One of the first wars of the beginning of the 20th century was the Russo-Japanese War, 1904-1905. Its main feature was that it took place at a great distance from the center of Russia and had many naval battles.
This section of the exposition presents medical aid and evacuation equipment used during the Russo-Japanese War, and a collection of medical items from the Port Arthur Hospital, as well as episodes of joint work of the medical services of the Russian and Japanese armies.
The Russo-Japanese War was the last war in which the requirements and principles of the Geneva Convention were observed.
The showcases contain some documents on the results of the Russo-Japanese War. Here you can also see a unique medical device - a portable X-ray machine used on the Russian Navy ships.
